Longitudinal Study of Corneal Hysteresis

posted by: J. James Thimons, OD, FAAO

This paper by Dr Felipe Medeiros and his colleagues, recently published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, is a major breakthrough in our understanding of the role of Corneal Hysteresis and it relationship to predicting progression in patients in the glaucoma suspect state. Along with the early work by Neil Congdon and others that has solidified its importance as the most predictive value in predicting progression in patients with glaucoma, we now have a powerful relationship to patients with OHTN and GLS status. A very worthwhile read.
