National Glaucoma Symposium Cape Cod - July 29-31, 2017 - Brewster, MA

Join the Tradition! The 14th Annual National Glaucoma Symposium will be held at the beautiful Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod in Brewster, Massachusetts. 

Speakers this year are:  Nathan Lighthizer, OD:  Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Clinical Care Services, Oklahoma College of Optometry, Tahlequah, OK; Felipe Medeiros, MD, PhD: Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Director of Visual Function Research, University of California San Diego School of Medicine, La Jolla, CA;  Robert Noecker, MD: Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut, Fairfield, CT, and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT; Brad Sutton, OD: Clinical Professor, Indiana University School of Optometry, and Service Chief of Indianapolis Eye Care Center, Indianapolis, IN;  J. James Thimons, OD: Medical Director, Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut and Chairman, National Glaucoma Society. 

Lectures take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings from 8:30-12:30, with optional Early Riser CE sessions from 7:30-8:20 on all three days and 1-2 hour lunch seminars on Saturday and Sunday for a total of 18 hours of CE. All courses are COPE approved; courses are also approved by the Florida and Texas Boards of Optometry.

The Early Riser CE Sessions on Saturday and Sunday are now full. 

There is a a beach bonfire and marshmallow roast Saturday night (weather permitting). 

The full schedule is listed at the bottom of this page, below the registration options. (Please note: All one-hour courses will be 50 minutes in length; due to limitations of our website, which only accommodates 15-minute increments, some are listed as 45 minutes and others as 60 mintues.)

Conference registration for the three mornings of lectures from 8:30-12:30 is $425 through June 15 and $475 from June 16 through July 28. Rates for Full members of the National Glaucoma Society are $395 Early Bird and $450 regular. One-day rates for the morning lectures are $150 Early Bird and $165 regular ($135 and $150 for Full Members of the National Glaucoma Society).  Separate fees apply for the Early Riser lectures from 7:30-8:20 each morning and lunch sessions on Saturday and Sunday.  After July 24, a late fee of $50 will be added to all CE, if space is available.  We cannot guarantee walk-in registration.  This conference has sold out in prior years. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received by July 24 can receive a refund, less a $25 processing fee, or apply the full registration to a future program.  Cancellations received after July 24 can receive a credit of the full registration fee toward a future conference.  Please cancel in writing by fax (978-470-4520) or e-mail (info@nationalglaucomasociety.org).  No credit will be given for leaving early or canceling sessions once the conference begins.

This is an innovative model for patient interaction developed by Novartis to identify the unique types of patients that doctors encounter in their glaucoma practice and to tailor strategies to match patients’ needs and characteristics. During a one-hour session, Novartis staff will discuss adherence challenges based on patient type as well as approaches to enhance patient engagement and adherence to their glaucoma treatment plans.
